Auriculotherapy

In Auricuoltherapy it is belived that the whole body is representd on the Outter ear, otherwse known as the pinna, and that by simulating varying parts of the ear healing of the corosponding body parts will be achieved.

Auriculotherapy is said to date back to early Chinese times and the first known refence to it is from a book entitltd "Hunangdi Neijing" which states that diseased fluids from the Kidneys are disposed of through the ears.

The current practice of Auriculotherapy was developed in 1957 by a French neurologist by the name of Paul Nogier using Phrenology as its basis, and was soon adopted by latter day Chinese practo Phrenology is the belief that a persons personality traits are related to the shape of their skull and is an area of medicine very popular in the 18th Centuary.

There are variation onthi theory is Iridology, which dates back to the 15th centuary. Iridology uses the tissue in the iris (the coloured prt of the eye) to detect ailments within a patient, and is said to be able to not only detect past and present problems, but future ones also.
