If you are interested in the roots of Balinese culture and the island's heritage you may want to attend Trance Possession and Healing in Bali. The event, which is being run from May 10th to 23rd by the Bali Institute for Global Renewal, lasts for two weeks and aims to take people on a journey into Balinese culture, particularly relating to the use of ritual trance in community practices and personal healing.
During the trip, tourists will be taken to sacred sites around Bali, as well as being able to see things that are seldom shown to outsiders, including trance dramas and masked dance performances.
Participants will also be able to take part in some of the ceremonial street processions that happen in Bali at this time of year. For more information visit www.balispiritfestival.com.
