Burning Man 2010

The burning man festival returns to Black Rock Desert close to Black Rock City, Nevada this year with a "Metropolis, life of the cities" theme, tickets are priced at $300 available at the gate or online. Though not strictly a festival, Burning Man itself calls describes itself as ".. an annual experiment in temporary community dedicated to radical self-expression and radical self-reliance" it is always an amazing time, with a friendly vibe and plenty of artwork, exhibitions and music in keeping with its annual theme.

The Burning Man festival is held the week prior to Labour Day, with the Man burning on the Saturday night before Labor Day (August), Camping at The Burning Man involves Theme camps and Villages, these make up the core of What The Burning Man experience is all about - being completly interactive, Themes are designed by the Camp members, as a way to engage festivals go-ers, with Villages being a natrual out growth of these Theme Camps.

Participation is encouraged at The Burning Man, with Festival go-ers encouraged to express themselves as the feel fit, the only rules being to protect health, safety, and experience of the community at large, So ig you feel like building a large instulation or creating your own mini festival your more than welcome to.

The Burning Man Festival has a heavy emphisis on self -reliance, with the only items availble for sale being coffee and ice, in Black Rock City, all other exchanges are made in trade and as such it is a good idea to get acustomed with the Survival Guide before you leave, for instance, in order to be let inyou must be carrying at least 1.5 gallons of water amngst other essential items.

Other than these few guidlines The Burning Man is a very friendly and safe place to discover and have new journeys.
