Boom Festival is a festival which takes place from August 18 to 26 - full moon - in the warm climate of Portugal. In Idanha-A-Nova and has a huge capacity - 26.000 partygoers!!. Boom Festival is different to your run of the mill festival in that it offer slots more besides just music with is what sets this festival apart and why this festival can be seen as one of the most unique festivals in the world.
The music at the Boom Festival is varied and includes such styles as Dubstep, Breakbeat, (Psy / Goa) Trance, Funk, House, Techno and Minimal.
In 2010 there are three arenas, namely the area Ambient Dance Floor, Groovy Beach and the Sacred Fire. In some of these area's will be using sound systems by the legendary Funktion One.
Besides electronic music, there is various painting, sculpture, video art, film and theater. There is much to do in the field of art, culture, sculpture, etc.
In the festival area will be several live bands & shows. From acrobatics to fire-eaters and graffiti and much more in between.
There will also be a few small shops selling clothing, jewelry, books and much more. The campground is open from midday on August 17 and closes midday on the 27 of August.
The camp is fully kitted out for all your needs during the festival as it has its own supermarket, a selection of restaurants catering for all your tastes from Thai to Mediterranean and a selection of good vegetarian outlets. Also on site are showers and toilets; Lockers are also available for a small fee to store your valuables.
